Coppicing in Dock Copse

Event Details

  • Date:
  • Venue: Dock Copse

Clearing the understorey in an area where oaks are being harvested. Most of the work will be cutting Holly and Hazel and dragging to a chipper. Small trees, marked in pink, may be felled too. Straight trunks to be left as long as possible.

We can have a bonfire too if we can get one going in the likely wet weather.

Please park as directed to keep the access track passable.

Picnic site will be in the woods at  ///cackling.winemaker.bedroom

There will be huge amounts of oak to take away if you are that way inclined. (There should be lots of ash at Kite’s Croft during October too)

Much brash was dragged to the track to be chipped. RHCP, September 2024.

Some brash was burned. River Hamble Country Park

This once was a fine tree – harvested.
