Hayling Island, off West Lane; Erecting a new barbed wire perimeter fence in a field adjacent to the Billy Line. Two hundred meters of old fence line has been cleared. Leader Adey in week 1 and Kevin in week 2.
We are asked specifically not to take our cars into the work field this week. Stay in the first field to the left of the track.
Interest. The field is noted for its population of Dyer’s Greenweed, (Genista Tinctoria). Once common in unimproved meadows and used as a source of cloth dye is times gone by.
