Good Morning All,
Our planned work at the woodland on Wednesday will consist of a variety of tasks.
1. On the lower path between the two bridges there is a dip which we will fill with rubble and stones. There should be two or three builders bags of stones to be moved down the hill, hence as many wheelbarrows as possible will be needed.
2. On the path to the bridge we will continue to replace wood planks with stone. I know the planks can be hard to remove so I’ll bring a crowbar.
3. Cut excess ivy on trees. There are still too many trees in danger of being blown down because they are top heavy with ivy. Silkies ideal for this.
4. Cut up a fallen birch on the upper path. Someone please bring a chainsaw or two. Note that wellies would br useful for this task because it’s very wet up there. There are other bits of broken tree elsewhere that need to be tidied up as well.
5. Cut back and widen middle and upper path, overgrown by brambles and other weeds, and clear brambles growing by glade that we cleared last time. Hedge cutters needed please.
6. If we get the time add stone to both ends of the far bridge. This is at the far end of the path so a long carry from the bags of stone but really useful if we can do it.
7. Take away as much firewood as possible. There is still a lot of wood lying around which would be good to remove.
To summarise the tools we will need:
Wheelbarrows, spades or shovels – there are a lot of stones to be shifted.
One or two chainsaws.
Hedgecutters.
Silkies.
Crowbar.
Any questions just ask.
