Manor Farm Pig Fence

Event Details

Replace and upgrade 70m of fence that separates pigs from the farm visitors. JohnA stepped forward to lead the task.

The whole fence line from A – G in the diagram is to be removed. A double line of “equine fence” (smaller square mesh) is to be installed with 1.2m high fence on the pig side of posts and 0.9m high fence on the human side.

The sections A-B-C, D-E, F-G will be double equine fence.

The section C-D is adjacent to a feeding crate and is to be fenced with horizontal rails only.

In the diagram E-F is an existing field gate and should be faced with 0.9m equine fence on both sides.

The ground on the human side of this work line will be hard and dry. However on the pig side the ground will be soft mud. Wear wellies. The pigs will not be present.

The trailer will be brought out of the barn for us but bring all of the fencing tools that you have at home. Make camp behind the big horse shelter. The public will be excluded from our work area.
