RHCP steps

Event Details

In June 2021 in River Hamble Country Park we put in a set of steps down a muddy slope. Reminder.

That was on the East side of the creek. We are invited back to do remedial work on the steps and path on the West side of the creek. The ground will be dry at this time of year. There are a few log risers to install and backfilling with barrowed-in scalpins. Ben Bristow (young park ranger) will join us with a small tractor to help load and shift the stone along a 250m gently descending pathway.

Park in the top corner of the wedding field as we have done before.

Week 1 of 2. We cracked on so well the whole job was finished in a day.

Progress photos below.

Steps still in great shape after a wet winter.

Care was taken to divert rainwater off the path.

Busy putting in risers in the eroded path bed. River Hamble Country Park

Steps for walkers and a gutter for rain.

We had a little help from Ben delivering some of the scalps.

Posing for the camera while waiting for more scalps to arrive.

Looking down to the stream, job done.
