Wicor work 4 and 5

Event Details

This event finished on 15 May 2019

Further visit to our chain-link fence replacement task. We should be getting good at this by now. Rod will be stand-in task leader on 8th then Tom again on the 15th and beyond.

Week 4 started out wet and Martin only brought about 40m of rails so our achievement for the day was a little below par. Great debate was had about how best to achieve optical and technical excellence when “that will do” just isn’t good enough.

About 126m remaining along the footpath and 34m in the same style across the field, either side of the new gate. Probably still the work of 2 or 3 weeks to finish. Replacing the rest of the field boundary with 3-strand barbed wire will probably see us coming back well into 2020.

Wicor Mill, built c 1795, it ceased work about 1880 and was demolished c 1935, the materials being used to build a chimney for a factory which produced glue from animal bones.
