Woodland clearance at Sponders Mead

Val from Otterbourne Conservation Group has several work requests, some of which we have done before ;

1. Installing stub supports to the main Notice Board.
2. Replacing a few broken/missing posts beside the track.
3. Clearing a new woodland path.
4. Cutting brambles obscuring the snowdrop area.
5. Cutting and burning old wood in the compost area.
6. Trimming overhanging branches across the site.

Val will request all construction materials below from Otterbourne Parish Council to be delivered prior to our visit.

• For item 1……2 x 100mm x 1220 mm concrete stub posts, 6 M10 x 200 mm bolts and nuts to attach notice board , 2 bags Postcrete 
• For item 2…….5 x 50mm dia x 1.82m (6ft) posts (to be cut in half lengths) 

It’s our first outing in the new year so probally going to be wet and slippy, wear boots and waterproofs. Can Geoff bring the tool wagon to the site. We will need the auger, brushcutter, a chainsaw. post hole spade, crow bars, mel hammer, spades, loppers and bow /silky saws, shears, portable drill/bits, hammers ,adjustable spanner etc. A fire ignition kit if dry weather.
