Spring clean

Event Details

Returning to the site this year we  have been asked to address the following…

  1. Regenerate the pond by removing and cutting reeds to expose open water in addition to re-establish the path around the perimeter. We will need a Brush cutter and hedge cutter, shears and loppers to achieve this.
  2. Replace 2/3 rotten sleepers on the bridge over the ditch area near the road bridge. We will use reclaimed concrete blocks as a foundation and spades and mattock to position the new sleepers.
  3. Use a post hole digger and spade to stabilise the notice board by the style at the rear of the site. Postcrete 2 concrete stub supports into the ground and attach the board uprights with coach bolts.
  4. Use loppers and hay fork to cut and remove the bramble near side of the ditch from the Old Parsonage land.
  5. All brash and a existing wood pile to be burnt in the compost meadow.
  6. Finally dig over a 10 square meter patch near the road bridge, forks & spades required

Mike is leading the task today and Val will provide the material which hopefully will be on site. Due to builders work vehicles parked on the track can all volunteers park in the Old Forge Car park and carefully cross the road.
